Many people think the best way to get health insurance coverage is simply to get the most complete coverage one can afford. This is, to some extent true, and if you have a lot of liquid resources it is a good idea to get a comprehensive individual health insurance plan that includes everything from a small deductible for hospital visits to full dental and vision coverage. However, if you are on a very tight budget, you may want to consider getting a smaller plan than you can afford and paying for some of your medical expenses out of pocket.

If you are juggling several different prescriptions that are costly to fill and refill, or that require frequent check ups with your doctor to make sure that you have the right dosage, it is important to get a full health plan. However, if you are looking for ways to economize on your health costs, it may make sense not to get such a comprehensive plan. If you don’t have any dependents and don’t need to make regular hospital visits for any reason, consider whether you really need a full health insurance plan that gives you complete coverage. Paying more than you need for health insurance can be a heavy financial burden, so it is worth thinking creatively and realistically about what you really need and if it is possible to get the care you require without shelling out a large monthly payment to a health insurance provider.

Many people find that through a combination of free clinics and minimal health insurance coverage, they are able to get by spending much less money than they would pay for comprehensive health insurance. It is still a smart idea to have coverage that will help alleviate the financial burden if you suddenly develop a condition or meet with an injury that requires emergency care. However, it is a good idea to look into what kinds of plans are available, as one of the many plans designed specifically to give you emergency coverage may be a much better choice than a plan that will leave you generally well insured.

It is never a good idea to gamble with your health care, so make sure that you if don’t opt for the maximum amount of insurance that you can afford, that you have a plan for how to meet any medical expenses that may arise. Think about other ways that you can designate money for your health care needs, such as starting a savings account where you store away the money you would be paying for insurance every month. This will help you make sure that you are prepared for anything. Don’t forgo coverage entirely though. At the very least purchase a high deductible plan that will cover you in the case of a serious illness or injury. Otherwise one serious illness or injury could wipe you out financially.

Scam Alert? Is Water for Gas for Real?

By Auto Insurance Specialist Posted in Products / No Comments »

Internet is a reliable source of information. Also a source of fraudulent information. So when websites for cars running on water started to be available in internet, the internet community was intrigued. With all the junk the internet has been feeding the public, one cannot blame why the public has been judgemental of this system. Could this be for real? Is this just a scam? But more and more people are starting to testify on how effective this system is in terms of improving their gas mileage and saving money.

When checking the websites for the main water for gas main players, you will notice that they immediately inform the public that they do not come in already installed systems nor will they install it for you. These websites also immediately disclaim that putting water into gas tanks is not how to do it. What they provide is a simple do it yourself system that comes with guides on how to assemble the system.

Some main players would say that this technology was already known for almost 90 years but was “lost” in the midst of old patents. In Richland, Washington; a blind machinist named Bernie Vinther has invented almost the same technology. He said that the water injector was invented in the 1930′s. Vinther said that by using the water injector, there has been 50% increase in mileage and a 25% jump in horsepower. It produces cleaner emissions in both Vinther’s family old motor home and pick-up.

Meanwhile in Chandler, Arizona, Arizona Hybrid Technologies claims that their product the Mileage Monster, can use water to increase fas mileage up to 45 percent. This is called the hydrogen generator. The hydrogen generator is a $400 equipment can be installed in any type of vehicle. Dan Radacosky, chief operating officer of Arizona Hybrid Technologies said that installing a generator is a cost-efficient way to become fuel-efficient. This is pretty much the same as the electrolyzer present in different water to gas conversion kits. However, several Arizona State University professors where sceptical of this technology since they’re wondering why this recent innovation was not published in any science journal.

In Greenville, South Carolina, WYFF News 4′s Tim Waller investigated on the water for gas system and tried to prove if it really improves gas mileage. Waller and Greenville Tech’s Center for Automotive Technology and agreed to install the water for gas conversion kit in a 1990 Buick Century. Based on their study, during the first month that it was installed great changes on car and how it was running was immediately detected. They continued the study for another two- three weeks. And their study discovered that there are no considerable changes in the mileage. They agreed thought that that it is a good concept.

Despite the number of sceptics, there are some who still claims that installing hydrogen generators or water to gas conversion kits are making wonders for their cars and their purses. Each website for the water to gas conversion kits has testimonials on how their products are affecting their lives. But there are individuals who are not posting any comments on these websites but are very well contented. They think that their money is well spent, given the increase of prices of gasoline.

Bottom line is there may be good or bad reviews about these water to gas companies, but any discount or increase in mileage will be a big savings in the end of the year. And any savings are good news especially in a very hard-up situation like today.

Automobile insurance is one of those things in the budget that is always going to be there. There are very few places in America that permit you to drive vehicles without insurance and so it behooves each and every one of us to get a better handle on our own auto insurance coverage. The industry is changing a bit because the competition is strong. There are new and creative auto policies on the market today. The trend that has gained the most momentum is the self-insuring concept. Higher deductibles is the weapon that the customer can use to lower rates significantly. Higher deductibles means that the policyholder has decided to take on more of the risk for the automobiles insured. The day of low collision deductibles is all but gone. Lower deductibles no longer warrant the high premiums. There is too much money to be saved with higher deductibles.

Lowering the Rates for Young Drivers

Young drivers on newer vehicles that have a lien holder’s interest will raise the auto rate significantly. The collision and comprehensive rates for drivers under 21 years of age are very high. A young driver on an older vehicle without the collision and comprehensive coverage will lower the rate significantly. There are discounts for young drivers who have completed a qualified drivers training course. Some companies have good student discounts on students with a grade point average of 3.0 or better. When the young driver reaches 21 the rates begin to drop for most companies.

Senior Citizen Discounts ?Most companies have discounts for people age 55 and older who are retired or work less than 20 hours a week. There are mature driving courses that can also give the senior citizen a discount.

Multi-Policy Discount ?This discount is available when you insure both your auto and home with the same insurance company.

Tort Options ?Some companies offer discounts for a limited tort option. Tort is your ability to sue for pain and suffering. Limited tort rates in some states reduce the overall premium of the policy up to 30%. Ask your insurance company about the tort options in your state.

Announcing the Best Guarantee in a Long Term Care Policy

The biggest concern about buying a long term care policy is “what if I never need to use it?” This article explains how you can have your cake and eat it too with the best policy guarantee available.
long term care, long term care policy
Are you 60 to 70 years old? If not you, maybe a family member? Then you’re about to discover something that could help prevent the total devastation of your personal estate.

Truth is, it’s likely the most important asset you could ever own. Here’s why.

For over 24 years, I have helped hundreds of individuals understand and implement money saving ideas. From birth to death I’ve witnessed families in every financial situation.

As my clients age (and me, too), I can tell you without hesitation the biggest fear of growing old is losing your ability to remain independent.

We might be living longer, this doesn’t mean we’re living any better.

Chronic disease is rampant… and it strikes with a vengeance when you least expect it.

How many people who have experienced a stroke knew it was going to happen to them?

How many anticipated that particular moment when they began to forget things?

The facts speak for themselves. Literally millions of Americans require long term care… either in nursing homes, day care centers, assisted living facilities or in their own homes.

And the cost of providing long term care is rising with no end in sight.

Think it won’t happen to you? Well, I’m sorry. Because this article doesn’t try to convince anyone about the likelihood of their needing care before they die.

It’s intended for those who understand and appreciate the importance of arming themselves with protection against the horrific expense of long term care.

In fact, this article is ideal for those who have already looked at traditional types of long term care policies and are trying to determine which type is best for them.

One of the biggest objections to buying a long term care policy is that if the benefit is never needed the premiums paid for the policy will be wasted.

This is somewhat like buying automobile insurance. You have to pay the premium in order to get your car repaired. But what if you never have an accident. Is that considered losing your premium?

Funny isn’t it? People hardly question paying for car insurance, but they frequently resist doing so for a long term care policy.

So… what if you could always get your premium back – guaranteed – if you never require any long term care?

And, what if you die before receiving long term care? Wouldn’t it be great if your loved ones could recover 100% of your premium expense?

How about this? You actually use up all of your long term care benefit. And then you die. What if your family could still get back 10 percent of your premium.

Now if you know anything about long term care policies you’re probably wondering why you haven’t heard of this type before.

One reason is because it is non-traditional and not included in the mainstream marketing of long term care policies.

Another is because it takes a large sum of money to buy the policy. $50,000 is typical and it’s a one-time single premium, which means you will never get stuck with a premium increase.

It is not uncommon for people between 60 and 70 to have large sums of money stashed away in bank CDs earning low interest. Kind of an emergency fund.

Transferring a portion of this fund into the policy makes sense because the money continues to earn interest. Besides, it usually pays more than the bank… plus, the policy interest is tax deferred.

It’s also common for people this age to have old life insurance policies with significant cash value.

Many times it’s possible to transfer the cash into the long term care policy and still retain a meaningful death benefit.

And the future long term care benefit could easily be worth over one million dollars.

This policy has a 90 day waiting period before benefits are paid. The length of the benefit can be as short as 4 years or as long as your lifetime. You can also get a 5% compound interest inflation protection rider to help keep up with the rising cost of care.

The name of this policy is MoneyGuard. It is a universal life insurance policy with a long term care rider. The issuing life insurance company is Lincoln Life, a subsidiary of Lincoln Financial Group.

By the way, this policy was initially developed by First Penn-Pacific Life many years ago. They have years of experience and an excellent reputation. Lincoln recently bought First Penn-Pacific.

Ask your life insurance agent to get you more information about this single premium policy. For the right situation it is absolutely the best guarantee in a long term care policy.

Water as Gas, Full of Salty Possibilities

By Auto Insurance Specialist Posted in Products / No Comments »

When the water as supplement for gasoline was released in the market, it immediately received public attention and interest. This is a totally good way of saving money on gas. Using water to gas conversion kits which is readily available for less than $100 was great break from the continuous and never stopping increase on the prices of gasoline.

It opened a great door for possibilities of discovering other alternative fuel that would help the almost empty purses to stay within the budget for gas and other necessities.

Then came the invention created by a 63-year old named John Kanzius that claims to create a source of alternative fuel from salt water. Kanzius discovered that under right conditions, salt water can burn at high temperature. Diagnosed with leukaemia in 2003, he decided to try to invent a better alternative for destroying cancerous cells in the body. He came up with the radio frequency generator, it is a machine that generates radio waves and focuses them into a concentrated area destroying the tumors without harming normal cells.

While conducting a demonstrations, an observer noticed that the RFG was causing water in a nearby test tube to condense. Thinking that if the RFG could make water condense, maybe it could also separate salt out of seawater. An effective means of removing salt out of seawater could save lives especially in the countries that are dying because of thirst. Kanzius then used his RFG with the goal of desalinization of salt water. During the first test, the water in the test tube sparked.

On the second trial, he lighted a paper towel and touched it to the water while the RFG is pointing to the water. The test tube ignited and continued to be aflame while the RFG is turned towards the test tube. Several universities tried to do the same test to prove if it could be hoax, but the same result happened. The salt water in the test tube ignited and remained ignited while the RFG is pointed to it.

But should we be worried? Since the world is 70% saltwater, it is probable that seas would suddenly be aflame because of a cigarette butt thrown to the sea? The radio waves from Kanzius RFG disrupt the stability of water, therefore releasing the hydrogen molecules. The heat coming from the RFG ignited them and it burned.

So is it possible to run our cars using salt water instead of gasoline? Back in 200, Hydrogen Technology Applications introduced the Aquygen.

Aquygen is a gas made up of hydrogen separated from water using electrical shock. This gas when mixed with regular hydrogen is said to create a more efficient fuel than gasoline alone (from www.howstuffworks.com). So could this have paved the way for the Kanzius discovery? Will salt water be used as ordinary water. Upon Kanzius assertions points out, that creating fire and fuel from salt water is possible. But separating hydrogen, oxygen, sodium and chloride is needed to be done first. Then sodium will then be burned. However, this process would consume much more energy that the energy that this produces.

The beauty with science is that it’s a never ending world of possibilities. What could be impossible today may be possible in the future. In the past, using water to run cars seems to be impossible. So who says that we should close our doors for salt water as alternative fuel?

For most people car insurance is a the single largest insurance expense after health insurance. Rates are high and are forever climbing, at least it seems that way. You can save money on your car insurance premiums by following these easy to implement steps.

1. Shop Around. Yes, it pays to shop and compare. Regulatory changes at the state level may have encouraged new companies to jump into the market, thereby increasing competition and reducing rates for consumers.

2. Raise Your Deductible. A $200 deductible sounds wise until you learn that the cost for having a deductible at this threshold can drive your rates through the roof. Consider a deductible as high as $1000 to save on premiums. You can always fix minor mishaps on your own.

3. Drop Collision. If your automobile is worth less than two or three thousand dollars, consider dropping collision altogether. Sure, you will get nothing from your insurer if your car is totaled, but the savings you realize by dropping collision can be used as a down payment for your next car.

4. Look For Discounts. If your car has certain safety features, make sure that your insurer is aware of this. Older cars, for the most part, do not have air bags but if you have a model that has airbags, you will save money on your insurance.

5. Business Deduction. If you drive your car for business, a portion of your insurance costs may be deductible. Conversely, your rates may be increased if your insurer knows that you use your car more for business than pleasure.

6. Combine Policies. Purchase your homeowners, auto, and life insurance policies from the same broker and you may save on your premiums. Some insurance companies reward policyholders if they “one-stop?purchase all of their insurance needs through one company.

7. Consider Before You Buy. The Porsche Boxster may be your ideal car, but it could also sharply raise your insurance rates. Maybe a less sporty model would be ideal.

8. Driver’s Ed Course. You may have taken a driver’s education course and your insurance company has not factored that in when determining your premium. Let them know that you are a safe driver!

9. Deleted Points. If you had moving violations that were reported to your insurance company, make sure that your insurer adjusts your premium downward if several years have gone by since the occurrence. You could be paying a premium higher than you deserve.

10. Check Your Policy. If the insurer has the wrong address, town or zip code on your policy you could find yourself paying more than you should.

Reducing your car insurance costs should not be an impossible feat. By following these steps you should realize some savings the next time your policy comes up for review.

Water the New Gas

By Auto Insurance Specialist Posted in Products / No Comments »

Who would have thought, that water would be essential in running your car? With the new hydrogen conversion technology, water is used to supplement gasoline for vehicles. Hydroxy or HHO (also called Brown’s Gas) is extracted from water and used to supplement energy and fuel to your car’s engine.

This is a great technology given that we are trapped in the midst ever rising prices of gasoline. This technology provided us relief from the crisis that is breaking our back.

So with this new discovery, would water be the next oil? There are people who see water as a future commodity. Therefore it could be as profitable in the same prospect as oil. There are people who sees that the diminishing certain water bodies is similar to the depletion of oil reserves. While there are some environmentalists that see environmental abuse of water the same as the abuse and waste of oil. Even if 70% of Earth is covered with water, only 3% is fit for human consumption. With this 3%, 2/3 if this is frozen and largely glaciers and ice caps. Only 1% then will be available for human use. The rest of 97% is sea water which is not fit for drinking nor for agriculture.

The world is facing an oil crisis, we are facing the exhaustion of oil reserves. Water is slowly experiencing the same kind of exploitation. Water bodies are being contaminated and polluted by various industrial plants. Water bodies are drying up in certain nation, resulting into thirst and drought. Ironically, the uncontrolled use of oil and other fuel is ensuing into water crisis. Burning of fossil fuels led to global warming, the melting of glaciers and early snowmelts. It also led into climate changes that brought too much rain some places and little in other locations.

Water is becoming a very hot- commodity. It even snagged attention of the big equipment companies like General Electric. Water markets include driking water distribution, management, waste treatment and agriculture. It is nearly a $500 billion market and is growing very fast. Another company who sees big potential in water-related businesses would be the Zurich –based Sustainable Asset Management. Japanese- Dutch consulting firm Japan Insite is putting together an 80 million Euro water fund.

But privatizing water is colliding with global “water is human right movement”. Because water is essential for human life, its distribution should be made readily available for the public and not just for those who can afford water. The poorest might not even have safe drinking water if the water would be privatized, as the water warriors would say. Drinking water would become a luxury and dominant image in advertising.

Affordable water is not only a problem for developing countries such in India and China. Southern Europe, Israel, the western part of the United States, the Middle East, and areas in Southeast Asia such as Singapore all suffer from scarce water resources (www.redherring.com).

Running your car with water as supplement for gasoline also reflects a deeper conflict between gas, oil and water. Whether water is being considered the “blue oil” or the new source of gas, one thing is important, that we take care of this as a one of our primary source of life. Surely, we do not want to experience what we are experiencing now in the gasoline industry.

We know how difficult it is to battle high prices of commodities. Hopefully water will not be one of them.

This is all you need to know about car insurance! The ins and outs of the best and worse things and the points you need to consider before purchising a car.
insurance, car insurance
Many factors influence the premium for your Motor insurance policy. Your insurer will have asked you many questions whilst producing your quote – some of which will affect your premium and some will not. Below we discuss the key variables that are within the policyholder’s control.
Location
A big influence on the cost of your car insurance is where you live. The chance of your car being broken into or stolen is a key concern for the insurer. More urban areas traditionally facing greater risk of theft and therefore tend to be more expensive than countryside locations.
Excess
By agreeing to pay a greater excess on each claim you can reduce your car insurance premiums. This is because you are reducing the liability of the insurer and therefore in return they are able to offer you a lower premium.
Your Vehicle
The cheaper and slower your vehicle the lower your premiums are likely to be. If you are looking to buy a new vehicle make sure you fully consider the cost of insurance ?you may be able to buy the car but can you afford to run it?
Consolidating policies
By insuring a number of vehicles with the same insurer, or by trying to take out home and life insurance through your car insurer, you may be able to secure a ‘bulk buy?discount.
Parking
Where you park your vehicle overnight is also very important to the insurers. If it is kept in a locked garage, you should be offered a lower premium than if you leave it unattended in the street.
Mileage
You can control your insurance premiums by restricting your annual mileage. However, be aware that if you exceed the restricted number of miles you’ll then become uninsured!
Security
Security devices that prevent or hinder theft may also reduce your premium. Common examples include alarms and immobilisers, however, be aware that as we improve the quality of our security devices the thieves just become better at bypassing them.
No Claims Discount
Save up your no claims discount by avoiding making small claims upon your policy. After a set number of years, 4 or 5 typically, you’ll often be offered the option to pay an additional small premium to protect your no claims bonus. This can prove very helpful if you subsequently end up having an accident.
Your Sex.
Women are statistically less likely to have an accident and, if they do, it’s less likely to be serious. Because of these statistics women benefit from lower premiums. It is also worth noting that if you represent one half of a couple you should consider having the female as the primary driver with the male as the second driver.
Advanced driving skills
By taking an advanced driving course you may also be able to reduce your premiums. The Institute for Advanced Motorists and the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents each offer membership which provides you with discounts for both the cost of driving courses and your car insurance premiums. Two key variables NOT within the policyholder’s control.
Your Age
The older you are, the less likely you are to make a claim. As a result insurance companies charge lower premiums for more mature drivers.
One final piece of advice.
A large percentage of car insurance is now sold on the Internet. That’s because it’s convenient and cheap. Many insurers now give a further 10%-15% discount if you buy online.
